    Can't run a shell script

I'm running Lubuntu 17.04 32-bit in a virtual machine on my computer. Out of boredom and unexplained interest, I decided to try and set up CDE. I got the dependencies, compiled the code from source, and I can see all the files in the root directory, but I can't run the 'install-cde' shell script. Whether I execute it from the terminal or from a file manager, I get the error

"Failed to execute child process "/root/cdesktopenv-code/cde/admin/IntegTools/install-cde" (No such file or directory)"

Maybe I missed something simple and I'm just making a fool out of myself right now, but I have no idea what to do.

Does /root/cdesktopenv-code/cde/admin/IntegTools/install-cde exist? Does it have execute permissions set?
