Is there a global way to disable keyboard?

This happened on debian but was promptly insulted when posting on their forums. KDE plasma on stretch, I think = to xenial. Assuming this is a kde thing and not just a debian thing.

The other day I was messing about on my laptop, hit something and my keyboard stopped working. Mouse also couldn't click on anything, but could still move. I switched to a virtual terminal via ctrl + alt + f1 and keyboard didn't work there either. After a hard reboot everything worked fine.

How can the keyboard be disabled from a key combination?
