Is there any way to solve the Graphics question on an Optimus/hybrid GPU system?

Is there a particular reason for running a 32bit kernel on this laptop? Does the hybrid gpu require 32 bit versus 64?

(sorry, . . . I've never owned that type of system as I opt for System76 hardware the last few years . . takes all of 10 minutes to set up and then runs smoother than a baby's butt).

Not really, other than the fact that that's the image I used for my older laptop. Should I try to burn a 64-bit version? And could that help things? I know I'M being a pain, I just realised anything you do on Ubuntu can wreck your entire installation easily Cheers

So refer to the link and if you've haven't tried this workaround . . then it's worth a shot.
