My latest venture into customising DEs, this one using Ubuntu 16.04 on an old Asus EeePC900
Compiz standalone WM Theme: Radiance-Blue-Spring (ravefinity-project ppa) Icons: Vibrancy-Full-Dark-Blue-Vivid (ravefinity-project ppa) Wallpaper: A photo by my older son of Waiheke Island (near Auckland) File manager: Pcmanfm Panel: tint2 Menu: compiz-boxmenu (https://github.com/compiz-reloaded/compiz-boxmenu) and xdgmenumaker (https://github.com/gapan/xdgmenumaker)
Not quite as lightweight as my Openbox session, but gives me a *much* wider range of themes.
