URGENT PLEASE: "Your Connection is not Private"

Hello, please can anyone help?

I am running Ubuntu 16.04 and nothing else, but now, trying to book airline tickets and also my on line energy supplier I get the following message:

"You Connection is not Private....Attackers might be trying to steal your information"

How can I sanitise my machine and get back to using my PC worry free from a virus or hackers to allow me to run my life.

Appreciate any help.

Are you using Chromium/Chrome as your web browser? If so, update it. There's a bug that's been addressed that's causing a stale certs message.

Maybe, the website(s) are trying to inform you to switch to an https URI?

As pointed out in post #2, there's a bug filed: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium...tail?id=664177

Outdated Google Chrome is affected. Since the chromium-browser build provided in the repo is mostly "not current", users of chromium-browser may still be affected.

Thank you to all, the problem was Chromium, having used a different Browser I now have full access to those sits previously denied. I am sorry for my over reacting and alarming headline, and also could see a post above mine which relates to a similar problem. I shall mark now as "solved"
