Recently purchased a Dell Precision M5510 Developer edition. Shipped with 14.04 on it which worked ok. So I blew away the install (who trusts Dell anyway?) and installed 16.04. Worked fairly well until I installed the 4.6.7 kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.6.7/ . After that the machine works flawlessly. However, Docker in its aufs annoyance, is toast. Anyway for me to get the up-to-date kernel and the headers/modules to go with it?

As a second option is there any instructions on how the mainline kernels are compiled? I'm trying to re-compile it myself and can't find a single definitive set of instructions (some of the kernel instructions reference Ubuntu 8.x which is... concerning).
