    need some help in terminal?

    Hi, I was typing in some stuff in the terminal and I made a mistake and now when I type something it just goes to the next line there is no root@ubuntu:/ just what ever i type it just says the name not going to root@ubuntu:/

    What is the command to get me back to my last part of root@ubuntu:/.

    Try keystroke Ctrl-C

    For your info Ctrl+C usually just cancels, ie sends a SIGINT to the current process running in terminal and can be used to stop most if not all activities.

    If you up-arrow you will see your last command. If you post that here we can likely help explain WHY you were stuck in that process's prompt.
