Middle click of Back/Forward/Up buttons in Thunar

Currently have Xubuntu 16.04 Thunar set up so that middle-click opens folders in a new Thunar window. However, middle-clicking on the Back, Forward, or Up toolbar buttons does nothing; and middle-clicking the items in the Go menu behaves exactly as if I left-clicked them.

How to get middle-clicking the Back/Forward/Up toolbar buttons, and items in the Go menu, to open the destination folder in a new Thunar window, same as middle-clicking folders?

When you middle click on a folder, Thunar knows that's the folder you want to operate on. How would it know what folder to open when you're clicking on toolbar buttons?

^^^ Something like that. I suspect some things are part of the code and can't be changed at the user level. PCManFM behaves similarly.

Same way it knows what folder to open when left-clicking those buttons?

So is there a plugin of some sort for this?

No, I meant I think it's hard-coded and doing what you want would involve tweaking Thunar's DNA. Maybe you could consider making a feature request ...

Not being a xfce developer, I have no option to edit the feature request list. Maybe will try their irc channel. Thanks

Informative page, even though it's a wish list.

Is being a dev a condition for registering at https://wiki.xfce.org/wish_list?do=register ?

    I don't know myself. I haven't tried.

I don't get any link to register, only to log in. Maybe it's not required to be a dev to have an account on the wiki - I haven't tried either - but regarding that specific page, I'm not sure how else they'd protect it from vandalism. Registering new online accounts always ends up being a pain for me anyway, whereas it should be fairly straightforward for me to use freenode.

In addition to chat, there's the xfce forums: forum.xfce.org ... sign-in if you want to post there.

The xfce people on irc suggested to use the bug tracker
