Error launching the application

I made a launcher for a text file on my desktop.

When I try to open it, it says

There was an error launching the application.

Did you make the text file executable?

I thought you only made scripts and programs executable.

I made it executable.

Made no difference, still can not open it.

P.S.

How does the beans and coffee ratings work.

Perhaps you could be more specific about "I made a launcher".

Beans are the number of messages a person has written. I'm not sure about the coffee thing.

I got it fixed by using

/usr/bin/geany /home/andy/Documents/BLANK.txt

I have the exact same problem and is totally blown away by how you solved it. There isn't a lot of useful information on the web for this subject I'm afraid.

I try to find /usr/bin/geany /home/username/Documents/BLANK.txt.

But I couldn't find the geany folder, and if I find it, how should I use it? Also there are no BLANK.TXT in the Documents folder.

All I want to do was to start jupyter notebook, a programming tool from a desktop icon - if I have to type jupyter a thousand times, I'm afraid it would ruin my spelling forever.
