I was wondering what is a good 3d suite for Ubuntu? I am trying to get into 3d CGI art and I am currently running Ubuntu 14. Other than Blender what is a good software I can use?
Sorry I am new to the forums and not sure where to post this?

Other than Blender, there's Blender. And Blender. Oh, there's also Blender.
Well, you could have a blink at k3d and aoi I guess... or Google Sketchup.

Wait, Google Sketchup isn't available for Linux is it? And on the same area, is Wings3D available for Linux? I remember using wings for low poly for mobile ages ago.
only through Wine (or a Windows VM) but sometimes you can't be picky.
lots of the alternatives (particularly 3D engines) have a "blender exporter" first thing in their list of tools.
didn't pixar or whoever made their tools open source recently? http://www.engadget.com/2015/08/11/p...cription-tool/
