    Xubuntu keeps forgetting my touchpad

Hi everyone! I've got a problem.
Recently I've bought a new laptop, an asus x556uj (I can give more info if needed). My intention was to install Elementary Os, but due to some complications I decided to switch to the distro I have in my older computer, xubuntu, with wich I have much more aquaitance. Before trying elementary, I tried linux mint, and in both cases the OS failed to recognize the touchpad, and I had to use an external mouse.
When I installed xubuntu, it seemed that everything was fine, but after rebooting it also failed to recognize the touchpad. I found a solution in this forum (http://askubuntu.com/questions/63635...e-on-ubuntu-15), and the touchpad worked again. But still, after rebooting, Xubuntu again failed to recognize the touchpad. What can I do to apply the correction suggested in that thread permanently? Thanks!

With a new computer, you should use 16.04. Is that what you used?
