    Minimizing Wine Application

I've noticed that minimizing Wine applications makes them disappear. They don't stay in the 'dock(for lack of a better known word)'

    Likely an incorrect assumption.

If referring to having a program launcher in the unity 'dock', then whether a prog minimizes to that launcher could depend on the .desktop that's being used.
By default wine tends to create poor .desktops for use in the unity dock though that could be program specific. An example of 'bad' would be for foobar2k, it creates a number of them, all are deficient in some manner

So you're saying a work-around would be modifying .desktop files?
    If so, how/including what?

I don't tend to use wine much though happen to have on this install for use of qaac. If you want some foobar examples can do that keeping in mind foobar presents some 'challenges'
