    Ubuntu mate or xubuntu?

    hello, i would appreciate your help on helping me find out the right os for this laptop http://www.cnet.com/products/acer-tr...-gb-hdd/specs/.

    Should i choose ubuntu mate? or xubuntu? should i choose the 32 or64 bit version?

    Take Xubuntu 64 Bit , it will run flawless in your configuration.
    Dont miss anything even it is small. one small pin is enough to bring down a man.

    As far as I see your machine should do well with Ubuntu Mate also, I'm running it on one of my machines and I love it.

    It is a 64 bit CPU so go with a 64 bit OS.

    I would have to say Mate, Xubuntu was made lighter for machine with less resources so therefore it's a bit faster.

    But if you have a 32 bit system you need the 32 bit version same applies for the 64 bit

    Hi,

    64 bit computers can run either 32 or 64 bit.

    With 4 GB of ram, 64 bit would be my choice.

    before a couple of months i tried xubuntu 14.04 lts 64bit on this computer but i was surprised when i have seen that the computer was too slow. especially when i was broswing on internet(this is my main task) when i have a few tabs open everything was going too slow
