Having trouble with my Epson Expression 11000XL to my machine that is currently running on Ubuntu 15.10 x64
I installed the iscan-bundle-1.0.0.x64.deb and am running xsane, got it to work well.
Though after plugging in the transparency unit it comes with the message: 'Failed to start scanner: Error during device I/O' the red error light pops up on the scanner also.
The scanner is detected when the program starts though when (for example) preview button is selected, the error appears.
Drivers have been fully removed and reinstalled
Yet the scanner only works when the transparency unit is unplugged
If anyone else is having the same issues can you share some things you tried please.
