    Oh yes, Oracle. Interesting discussion though.
    At time s I really can't understand why Oracle does what Oracle does. IMHO, their business model isn't so good but perhaps the shareholders think differently.

    Oracle is not the only immovable object in this story. I see obsessive behaviour on both sides with those who have "a let's get things done attitude" being in between. Perhaps even caught in the middle.

    It's not as simple as Oracle changing the license because it's no longer something they have control over after the fork. This has been discussed thoroughly on the ZFS on Linux mailing lists for those curious about the subject. Every developer that's ever contributed to the source code would have to agree to the license change because many of the contributions at this point have been made by people outside of Oracle and their contributions were made under the CDDL. It's a fustercluck. IANAL and TINLA.
