Youtube Video Play Issues

Hi all, this is to ask whether anyone else has been having these problems and if anyone may have an idea as to what's going on and how this may be solved.

Problem is, I go to YouTube to watch a video. The video seems to load but it won't actually play, or play only intermittently and finally stall completely. I get the following message

"If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device"

Restarting the browser doesn't change anything, nor does restarting the system.

I tried this on Xubuntnu 14.04.3 LTS with Firefox, Chrome and Vivaldi.
Same issues on Mint 17.3 Mate with Firefox.

NO problems with Windows 10 in Firefox or Edge.

Just got onto a nearly identical machine (Xubuntu 14.04.3, FF 44.0.2 etc) and all is normal... Problem is, this has been going on for 2 days now.

Sorry for this. Looks like we had bandwidth issues in the region due to local power cuts. Seems to be solved now. Still don't understand why I only had this problem on Linux, though. Perhaps I just got lucky on Windows and tested just when bandwidth was up again...

So, I apologise again. Please move on. Nothing here to see.
