    modify contents of .img files

Is there a utility for modifying the contents of an .img file such as you can do on winlmage in windows? All the apps I've found only work with .iso images.

.img and .iso are just names and unrelated to the real contents. What is the actual format of the file? Many are in ISO-9660.

FuriousISO mount is available in the Ubuntu software center - https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applicat...uriusisomount/

It seems to be able to mount .img files and then you can access the files in the file browser.
