Talking OUT-OF-THE-BOX xubuntu for Surface Pro 3

    xubuntu-14.04.3-LTS-64 with kernel 4.2.4

    whats working:
    -live session
    -typecover
    -typecover mousepad
    -bluetooth
    -sound
    -wifi
    -cam
    -touchscreen
    -volume buttons
    -power button
    -pen pairing and buttons
    -mini sdcard reader

    1. Not working with secure boot (just disable secure boot) (future plans to add secure boot).
    2. Not sure if it is suitable to install but great for live session. Let me know if you install and what you discover.
    3. I installed the image to usb with mkusb
    4. Install xbacklight to adjust screen brightness with xbacklight --set XX

I was thinking of making the UI a little more suitable for the surface with a higher DPI, larger text,
and other tweaks if others are interested. I would appreciate any feedback and let me know if you find
issues with the filesystem or any bugs. Thanks.

    Hello leo,

live works fine, will try to install it on the weekend. Appreciate your work! If DPI adjustments will work out, this might replace Win10 on the Surface for me!

    Hello leo,

I have now tested it a bit but I encountered two problems:

    - keyboard does not work, but mouse does (I stated that live works fine, but it does not, I just di not try the keys)
    - I was not able to tweak my desktop in a way that Xubuntu is showing me reasonable sizes for fonts, icons, title bars, mouse pointers and menus.

    Any suggestions?

    Brgds
