Often my newly installed LXLE 14.04.3 will crash during bootup. When it does crash, it does so at the message that says "Enabling additional executable binary formats," which I've read has something to do with the binfmt-support service. But since the problem is intermittent, I can't be sure that fixing the bibfmt-support service will fix the bootup problems. Would it? Compaq Presario r3000 Athalon 2800+ 1285MB with nearly drained COMOS/RTC battery. Dual boot Windows XP / LXLE 14.04.3 The Windows XP always boots up fine. --------------------- I suspected the problem might occur when the RTC had the time wrong, from the weak battery. Once when it would not boot up, I checked the clock, which was wrong, and re-set it. Then it booted up fine a few times. Then it crashed on bootups again. But the RTC was still set correctly. So I don't know.
