Re: Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN - Wifi problem after upgrade 14.10 to 15.04

The driver is looking for firmware:
[ 62.506823] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: request for firmware file 'iwlwifi-5000-5.ucode' failed.
But you seem to have the firmware:
    iwlwifi-5000-5.ucode
I wonder if the permissions are correct:
    Code:
    ls -al /lib/firmware | grep iwlwifi-5000
    We hope we see:
    Code:
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 340696 Jul 29 08:57 iwlwifi-5000-5.ucode
In human words, owned by root and readable by all. If not, correct it:
    Code:
    sudo chmod +r /lib/firmware/iwlwifi*
    Reboot and check the log:
    Code:
    dmesg | grep iwl

I checked permissions for iwlwifi-5000-5.ucode file, and I have:

    Code:
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 340696 Jul 29 08:57 iwlwifi-5000-5.ucode
    so anybody can read it.

    Would you please try:
    Code:
    echo iwlwifi >> /etc/modules
And with a temporary connection by ethernet or otherwise:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install --reinstall linux-firmware
    Reboot.

    I made what you write.

    To do this operation
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install --reinstall linux-firmware

I don't not need internet connection - this not make any request to internet, this only get installed package, remove it and install again.

Unfortunatly this not resolve problem, I can't still connect to wifi.

Ok, I found what is problem.

It turned out, that I don't have corect version of kernel. I have a wrong kernel 3.2. In 15.04 it should be 3.19.
