An Apple usb keyboard with ubuntu 12.04, on a Packard Bell laptop?

A well-meaning friend has given me a usb keyboard to use with my Packard Bell 64-bit laptop that has no working keyboard (or monitor - laptop in name only, thanks be to the goddess of sugary coffee...).

Thing is, the keyboard is labelled as a "Macally, for use with Machintosh".

I'm a long way from home, and I want to know if the keyboard will work with my Packard Bell Intel-chipped computer. Is it worth taking home? I own no Macs. Or would it be better to donate it to a Mac user?
