    lucid lynx

hi guys. i'm an ubuntu 10.04 lover. i was using it for a long time, lately i upgraded to kernel 3.19 but somehow it did not go well. so i decided to install ubuntu mate15.04 which is similiar to lucid lynx. but the lucid's ambiance theme and icons were still missing. so i installed it in virtualbox, shared the ambiance theme and the icons, and there we are. i'm still using ubuntu 10.04 here i took a few screenshots.

    lucid lynx rules ^^

It is sad to live in the past. Linux, Ubuntu and the software that comes with it have improved A LOT since 10.04. It was my first Linux distro, but there is no way for me to go back to it now even if it were still supported. The future is more exciting.

I see. I just love the interface of it. All these icons, menus. Also there's a thing such ' oldies but goldies. '

You can get that interface with gnome-flashback.

I don't like nostalgia, I believe in progress and exploring new territories rather wallowing in the past, Life has to move on.

I'd recommend taking a look at the Ubuntu Mate project.

Retro look but up-to-date features. Here's some screenshots.

    Just a thought.
    Regards.

And its sad to live with blinders on. Why do you feel so obligated to defend Unity. Its freedom of choice and not for you to choose for everyone.

Bingo, we have a choice. Just one of many

Did I mention anything thing about Unity? There are a dozen DEs you can put on a currently supported Ubuntu release.

Hopefully when the op uses Lucid, he pulls the network cable and hard turns of wireless, we don't need another owned pc on the interweb.

Lets not let this degenerate into a sandbox fight about who's DE is better, any more of this, and you all know what will happen.
