    Pasting in terminal

    Hello,
I am very new to ubuntu.. I downloaded ubunto 14.04 on virtualbox using Windows 8.
I am facing a problem when trying to paste codes into terminal, and it's kind of tedious to type in long lines of codes.
I tried to do the following on virtualbox: Devices --> Shared Clipboard --> Bidirectional...
    However, nothing changed..

I am not able to paste something from outside virtual box into virtual box.. however if its something from inside virtual box it works just fine...

    Thank you so much
    Kind regards

    Re: Pasting in terminal..

Have you activated the guest additions for the Ubuntu install? I'm not entirely sure, but from memory you may need to add the guest additions to get that functionality working.

A link to some --guest additions info--

Edit: Another Ubuntu guide for guest additions : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Vi...GuestAdditions

Try installing VirtualBox guest additions. It will give you some extra features and it should let you copy and paste between the host and guest OS.
