Suspend?

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on an HP TouchSmart 320 PC. When I wake my computer from suspend, my screen stays asleep! I have tried the proprietary drivers, they just broke my computer (Could Upgrading to 14.10 and installing new drivers before reboot be the issue?). Any Ideas?

Ub is really finicky w video drivers. I had a similar suspend issue w my dell laptop,

BTW, I have an AMD video card.

This seems to be a common problem with Ubuntu 14.04. I have installed 14.04 on only a few laptops and have seen that problem (never fixed it - some were temporary installs).

12.04 doesn't seem to have this issue, at least in for me. I use it daily on several laptops without any suspend/resume display issues. 12.04 is supported for two more years (longer than 14.10) but I'm not what kind of touch screen support 12.04 has. Otherwise, 12.04 is very solid.

Hopefully it will be fixed in a later release.
