Snes9x and Ubuntu 14.04 lts

If you have Ubuntu 14.04 lts and are using Snes9x, please comment.

I ask this because 3 to 6 months ago I attempted to install it on 2 different 14.04 lts computers and it didn't work on either.

This is one of the few reasons I'm staying with 12.04 lts.

If version 1.53 doesn't work, perhaps the older version 1.52 works on Ubuntu 14.04 lts ?

p.s. Zsnes is not an option because it always locks up at around 35 minutes after start up. Besides, Snes9x is more accurate.

Snes9x-gtk 1.53 runs fine for me using 14.04 Kubuntu x64
