[Ratel Performance] NVidia Screen Tearing

I have a Ratel Performance with NVidia Geforce GTX 650. I experience screen tearing for both video and games. I have recently upgraded to nvidia's 346 drivers (but was getting screen tearing on 331 as well).

OS: Ubuntu 14.04

I have tried the following:

None of these solutions works.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are "multiple" (6, 7, 8 etc.) suggestions in the threads above. You've tried them all without success?

If you run a live OS such as Mint-Mate (uses non-proprietary video driver) - - do you still see issue(s)? How about Mint with Cinnamon (17.1)?
