Color Problems on New Install of 14.04

Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm new to Ubuntu, and just installed it next to windows 7 on my dell inspiron 5737. Everything seems to have worked great except that the color is very messed up on my screen. It is only displaying purple and green, and dithering the color to get value differences. The weird thing is that the color is fine on my tv over HDMI. This makes me think that it's the monitor driver as opposed to the video card driver, but I have no idea. The video card is an Intel hd card. (It says it's a haswell-ult integrated graphics controller). I hope someone can help, the pipboy look is fun but I'm getting sick of it haha.

Edit: I already tried the Intel driver installer

Intel does have a graphics driver ("Graphics Installer") for Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit:

I actually already tried that, it said that it worked and it recognized my hardware when it installed, but it didn't fix the problem.
