Nice one!
Thanks folks.
I'm working on Super Mario World (SNES) now - it's much more of a challenge.
Thank goodness for the "save state" option in the emulator - LOL
I've cmpleted the original Super Mario Brothers and #3 in the series. Oddly enough, I have completed all the levels of Super Mario World something like five times, but never beat Bowser at the end. The last level is a pain and quite different in style from the rest of the game, so I tend to lose interest just before victory.
After beating the original Super Mario Brothers game with the NES emulator, I thought, well I'll give S.M. World a try (Snes9x). I had no idea HOW MANY levels are in this game - something like 97 I later read. I should have gone to Super Mario Brothers 2 instead.

I almost beat Super Mario Bros #3, but on the last level I got frustrated and bopped my game system on the head and it froze my game, deleting all progress. And I never got the second F***ing whistle again either :/ That was back in 2003. Haven't gone back since.
did you do it without abusing the save state feature? eg no save points for the purpose of redos and only use them for breaks

Oh I had to use the save state feature. I'm sure that's considered cheating to Nintendo game players.
Those that can do it without that are very skillful.
