    Keyboard suddenly stopped accepting input

I'm using a wireless Logitech keyboard and a KVM switch connected to two machines.
The Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 installation suddenly is not seeing input from the keyboard while on the
other machine - Windows 7 - everything works as expected.

I don't know how to start troubleshooting this issue.

    Where do I start?

I get the same result with the keyboard adapter plugged directly into the machine - mouse but no keys.
Also tried another keyboard/mouse - ditto, mouse works kbd does not.

I now have a brand new kbd which acts just like the other two except that it allows me to type - very slowly - if I hold the key slightly longer than normal

It types normally in a virtual terminal - so the issue seems to be X related.

    Also...
I've run a live DVD - it operates as one would expect.

    Some file corruption maybe?

Re: Keyboard suddenly stopped accepting input

I just looked at the Universal Access settings and found one on the typing tab called "Slow Keys" which was turned on.
Turning it off resolved my issue.

I have never even looked at Universal Access settings before thinking it was more to do with accessibility, as in larger fonts, magnification, etc.
Not sure how this happened but I'm sure I didn't do it even accidentally.
