Avatar Questions

hello, I'm new to Ubuntu forums, but am well known across more than 40 forums... (I go by other names on some of those forums)

I've recently read here about users with less than 10 posts can upload custom avatars...
I'd like to do just that so it's easier to recognize that I'm who I say I am, but I'm restricted from doing so until I make 10 posts...

I'm not sure of the size requirements(100², 150², or 200²), but you can edit the link to change the size of the image I'd like as my avatar here:
(150 cropped) as noted by /s150-c/ in the link
^the actual size of the image size is 481x480 (thanks to google not being able to square-crop a 640x480 image)

if an admin could update my avatar so I could be better recognized, it would be greatly appreciated.
(I would prefer it linked rather than uploaded (or even Gravatar if that's available))

I've read about the avatar spam (advertizing) which is why the restriction was in place, though I saw it was removed, so I have to question why it's still in effect... :/

You should be able to upload a 90x90 px avatar.

just tried:

tcll5850, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of the following reasons:

1. If you have made fewer than 10 posts, access to your personal settings is restricted. See here for more details.
2. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
3. If you are trying to post to a Resolution Centre thread that another user has started, the permissions for the Resolution Centre do not permit this. Anyone may start a Resolution Centre thread, but only the thread starter and forum staff are able to post to it.
