Keyboard Layout doesn't change and shows same layout for all languages

In Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 running Gnome version 3.14 my keyboard layout doesn't change languages when I press Super+Space, or when I go into Settings > "Input Sources" to change it there. I have three different languages for keyboard layouts and it's always just the same no matter what. The indicator in the Top Bar indicates the selected language but when I start typing the keyboard layout hasn't changed.

Any ideas on what can be done to examine / fix this problem?
