    Did I pick an unsuitable one?

    Bear in mind that I'm meddling with things I know almost nothing about.

    Thanks for the clarification about how modules work, though.
    Maybe your download got corrupted. You should get exactly this file.

    OK, got it, thanks.
    Fairly busy today, but I'll have a look at it as soon as I can.

    Re: Asus X205TA hardware support in Ubuntu

    For those interested, I just did my daily git pull, and couldn't help but notice this log...
    commit 4054f64c937b1be46e41cbdfa61954be6f811252
    Merge: 02006f7a 3f37b26
    Author: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
    Date: Fri Jan 8 11:52:18 2016 -0800

    Merge tag 'sound-4.4' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound

    Pull sound fixes from Takashi Iwai:
    "A slightly higher volume than a new year's wish, but not too
    worrisome: a large LOC is only for HD-audio device-specific quirks, so
    fairly safe to apply. The rest ASoC fixes are all trivial and small;
    a simple replacement of mutex call with nested lock version, a few
    Arizona and Realtek codec fixes, and a regression fix for Skylake
    firmware handling"

    * tag 'sound-4.4' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound:
    ASoC: Intel: Skylake: Fix the memory leak
    ASoC: Intel: Skylake: Revert previous broken fix memory leak fix
    ASoC: Use nested lock for snd_soc_dapm_mutex_lock
    ASoC: rt5645: add sys clk detection
    ALSA: hda - Add keycode map for alc input device
    ALSA: hda - Add mic mute hotkey quirk for Lenovo ThinkCentre AIO
    ASoC: arizona: Fix bclk for sample rates that are multiple of 4kHz
    Maybe I just have to sleep a little more, but something just got changed in the RT5645 code. Keeping an eye there!

    Eh... Sorry for asking this dumb question, but does anyone knows where rt5648_ioctl.h is? I only found rt56xx_ioctl.h in the aformentioned directory... Anyway, from what I can see, we need the following files and nothing else: rt5648.h, rt5648.c, rt_codec_ioctl.h, rt_codec_ioctl.c (all of them four can ba found on android.googlesource.com), rt5648_ioctl.h, and rt5648_ioctl.c. I can't find the last two .

    Try @mcinnesconti's post #435?

    Edit:
    Er, sorry, forget that. Need some sleep.

    Looks like a bug-fix for a memory leak and clocking problems.
    I wonder if there will be similar problems with the 5648 code?

    Edit:
    Sorry this reply belongs with post #453.

    Has anyone sent ALSA the rt5648 source yet? maybe they can clean up the code.

    Edit: Right now I'm compiling all the stuff, and enabled the drivers in my configuration as a module. I'm expecting to get compilation errors, but that's the purpose. I'll submit all patches for all problems I'ld be able to solve. Let's keep the faith!
