I had a Latitude for a while...was a good laptop, but it seems that Dell's are more prone to that than any other maker...anyone have a comment on that?

Wow, thats insane. Im not to sure wether I should belive it, but there were picture of the fire truck and everything. I cant believe that someone coud make a laptop that could possibly do that.
thats what you get when the designer chooses price over quality.

In my Dell laptop, where the fire appears to have started (bottom right hand corner below the keyboard) is where the hard drive is located. What would make the hard drive catch fire . . . I know they get hot, but surely not hot enough to do that!

I like the name of that thread though: Dude, your Dell just freaking blew up!!
