I'm quite new to Ubuntu and also to this forum. I bought a Lenovo ThinkPad e555 with a RTL8723BE some days ago and installed Ubuntu 14.04. Everything worked fine, except the WiFi. I tried everything in this post to fix it but nothing helped. I also ran the wifi-info script.

This is evidently the access point you are attempting to join:WPA2-AES is preferred; not any WPA and WPA2 mixed mode and certainly not TKIP. Second, if your router is capable of N speeds, you may have better connectivity with a channel width of 20 MHz in the 2.4 GHz band instead of automatic 20/40 MHz, although it is likely to affect N speeds. I also have better luck with a fixed channel, either 1, 6 or 11, rather than automatic channel selection. Also, be certain the router is not set to use N speeds only; auto B, G and N is preferred. It works. I can connect to the router, disconnect and connect againThe connection is quite slow and has a quite high loss ratio (up to 25% with ping to router) but this is better than no connection.

As suggested here I installed rtlwifi_new. Although Wifi worked well Bluetooth was not working. For Bluetooth I installed DKMS driver from ppa of Pilot6 but there was a conflict in Bluetooth driver.
To make Bluetooth work I uninstalled rtlwifi_new but my wifi did not work.
Is there any way to restore the default wifi driver of Ubuntu 14.04 so that both wifi and Bluetooth works.

To get bluetooth work install both modules from my ppa
sudo apt-get install rtl8723au-bt-dkms rtlwifi-new-dkms linux-firmware
