    One pipe problem

Be interested to hear what people think of the character sometimes known as a pipe shown below,
it can't easily be confused with other keyboard characters.
Sure it no longer represents the vertical bar that it was supposed to be called but that shape is generally
more than oversubscribed IMO. Are there any better solutions out there ?

You could get a keyboard without any key symbols. You know, for true programmers.

Otherwise I think a keyboard full of emoticons would be the next step. It's what the kids are using these days.

    Ha ! They look fun.
Believe it or not, command line programming is not the issue for me as i rarely use it there,
but there have been occasions on financial websites where pipes and number ones are close
to each other and if the sizes are small it can cause unnecessary hesitation, particularly with account numbers.
I already use Tiresias ttf fonts and the pipe is one of several characters that needed further
work with Fontforge to make it distictive. I should imagine other people have redesigned it.
