( Lubuntu ) Compiz Fusion Icon won't load

So, I just did a fresh install of lubuntu 14.04 on my laptop. Then I Installed compiz fusion from the synaptic package manager, and compiz fusion icon. For some reason whenever I click on compiz fusion icon nothing happens. I did also install compiz config settings manager, and that loads perfectly. Is there any way that I can get this to work so i can use compiz fusion?

A little off-topic though ,
Doesn't installing Compiz on Lubuntu practically kills it's prime advantage/philosophy (i.e.it being lighweight ) ?
