No Auto Mute Option In 14.04?

Hi, I recently updated to Ubuntu 14.04 from 13.10(Theres a chance it was 13.04, but I'm pretty sure it was 13.10), and I can't figure out how to disable auto mute like I could on my other computer on 12.04. Does anyone know how I can disable auto mute in 14.04?

    Thanks!

Automute? Are you saying you have no sound? If so use alsamixer:
Press <F6> to select the correct soundcard.
Press <F3> to show playback levels. <F4> selects capture levels [or use <Tab>]
Use the left/right arrow keys to select and up/down arrow keys to change levels. <M> to mute/unmute.
