Exclamation Mouse wont change appearance after lubuntu install

i tried the newest lubuntu recently, and after that my mouse cursor just wont go back to dmz-white in the regular ubuntu session, no matter what.
I heard of this bug in kde vs. gnome situations. but i had never seen it in action.

Please help if you know how to fix this, i've tried everything including resetting unity and 'sudo update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme'.

Have you used Steam for Linux yet? Give it a shot!

    found solution.
    here:

And specialy dont forget to "compiz --replace".

Actually scratch that, the cursor still is not dmz-white on unity at large. No idea why.

I had to use lxqt-config, which is what caused the problem in the first place, to change the pointer. Don't know why... :/
