    Error when booting?

    Hello trusty 'Buntu forumers!

I'm having a problem with the boot loader, it says that it cannot find the harddrive and goes into grub rescue mode. I can boot into Hiren's BootCD though, and everything I tried on that is not working. I've tried 3 boot managers and I still can't boot into Ubuntu or get the original boot loader. Help?

So, Virtualbox problems? You downloaded an iso and created a drive and you installed on that drive, and now you can't use a VM you created? Because installing Virtualbox shouldn't have an effect on the real hardware. Or is this a problem with the main OS?

This is NOT a problem with Virtualbox! Doesn't my signature SPECIFICALLY state "Don't make crap of this signatures, I would prefer VMware to Virtualbox any day."?!
The problem is with my main OS, which dual boots between Windows XP (out of commission) and Ubuntu 14.04 (in commission)
