For security I understand you need to be not as powerful as root. Well, when I have installed Ubuntu I have never had the choice on privileges and what type of account. As far as I know I have full control. If I install a program I put in my password and there it is. That seems not much different to Windows. Although in Windows I can get rid of the need of a password altogether and just click though the UAC to install anything.
According to this article: http://www.howtogeek.com/135392/htg-...d-when-you-do/
"Windows users almost always used the Administrator account all the time. Linux users normally used limited user accounts and became the root user only when necessary."
What then is the difference between a Windows account with UAC and a Ubuntu account requiring a password as I mentioned above?
