Mixxx - OpenGL cannot be initiated in 12.04

I am trying to use Mixxx in 12.04, but when I attempt to load a skin that will display the waveforms, I get the 'OpenGL cannot be initiated' error.

There was a thread about this three years ago (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...mixxx+waveform) that has been closed, but following the instructions in the link that is provided in the thread (http://askubuntu.com/questions/86465...-does-not-work) does not solve my problem.
Suggestions?

Been a while since I've used 12.04. The only problem I've experienced with Mixxx is in order to display the waveform and play I have to start it in terminal with the command "mixxx pasuspender". Also make sure you have libportaudio2 installed. That's the extent of my knowledge, sorry if it doesn't help.
