Hello,

I upgraded to 14.04 yesterday from 13.10. I am using the Lubuntu flavour.

Even on my 13.10, I had an blacklisting issue with the Broadcom driver, which started working after the usual troubleshooting.

However, after the upgrade to 14.04, the troubleshooting doesn't seem to be effective anymore. From what I can understand, it is because of the package firmware-b43-lpphy-installer being unavailable from this version onwards. This Ubuntu Help page - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BroadcomSTA(Wireless) seems to suggest the package is essential in running the hardware that I have - Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY [14e4:4315] (rev 01). When I try to install the package using apt-get, I get the error message
Code:
"Package 'firmware-b43-lpphy-installer' has no installation candidate
However, the following packages replace it:
firmware-b43-installer
I have firmware-b43-installer installed but it doesn't seem to solve the problem.

Please help.
