facebook only loading superbasic html version - what to upgrade?

    Hi,

my main browser is firefox, and I have recently opened a facebook account, which worked just the way you would expect it to.

Then, over night, it stopped loading, i.e., I only get into a very basic html version of it, I can log in, but once there cannot see my messages and so on. I tried installing Chromium, and get the same issue.
As other friends in the area can log on to facebook, I believe it might be a problem with my PC. Does anyone have tips on what history to delete/things to upgrade/other ideas... to get it working again?

    Thank you all already!

Have you tried on another computer in your network?

Well, I tried it with my mobile, which works just fine.
Also - maybe this is the key to the issue, but I don't understand it - if I use VPN and use the connection from my university, it also works. So it might not me an upgrade issue, but something different entirely.
    Ideas?
