I'd probably avoid this kernel for now. Doubt it will be forced on 14.04 final

ISTR chunks of 3.14 have already been backported to 3.13. The whole thing may land late July, as I posted above.

It's not. Kernel Freeze was last week, and 3.14 final didn't make the cut.

Well, for a week am running the 3.14.0-lowlatency , coz it lets my system 'Sleep'.
With 3.13 it wouldn't wake up.

3.14 I must add is running nice!

    Code:
    boat@boat-MS-7529:~$ uname -r
    3.14.0-031400-generic
    boat@boat-MS-7529:~$
Runs ok, although I never notice any noticeable difference one kernel to another.

This one does give me that ram drive error, but maybe the other did too and was not displaying the text on boot.

Probably be a good idea to check over mainline ppa from time to time looks as if they will keep updates there
    mainline/v3.14.1-trusty

    Code:
    Linux me-Aspire-M3300 3.14.1-031401-lowlatency #201404141220 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 14 16:29:57 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    Regards
Oh almost forgot, Once I am satisfied with the new kernel I remove the previous version.

Hey runrickus, I am also thinking of getting that 3.14.1 low-latency !

Do you keep a single kernel or one backup is also kept?

EDIT : Took the plunge already !
    :~$ uname -a
    Linux nbe-42 3.14.1-031401-lowlatency #201404141220 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 14 16:29:57 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    :~$ lsb_release -a
    No LSB modules are available.
    Distributor ID: Ubuntu
    Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
    Release: 14.04
    Codename: trusty
This one lets my laptop 'Sleep' in peace too !

The only kernel I keep is the one that ships with distro
And the one that I am currently using 3.14.1., after i have run it for few days to see if it is a keeper.
    Then I will UN-install 3.14.0
    Hope that is clear.

Only 'problem' I've had with Linux 3.14 is, I keep getting this @ boot

    Code:
    vindsl@Zuul:~$ dmesg | grep MPU-401

[ 11.195649] MPU-401 device not found or device busy

    vindsl@Zuul:~$
Everything seems to work, so I ignore it.

Been happening all along, ever since the first RC...

    Crucial ® Ballistix Tracer PC4000 1GB || Mountain Mods U2-UFO Opti-1203
    XFX 7600GT 560M AGP (PV-T73A-UDF3) || Corsair HX520W Modular PSU
