Increase text and UI size without lowering the resolution.

Hello, I'm a brand new Linux user, I've just installed Ubuntu-Elementary OS and I'm still using Windows 8.1.
on windows there is a possibility to increase the size of the things on the screen without lowering the resolution, it's like a general zoom that works on the entire OS, it lets us increase the size by 25% and 50%.
here in Linux I haven't found an option to do something similar without having to lower the resolution; I'm using a 1080p 40' screen so everything is really small and my sight gets tired after some minutes.
    thanks in advance.

    Moved to Other/OS Distro Support

Elementary OS is Ubuntu based yet has a different user interface than any Ubuntu version.
