    How exactly to " run smw"
    I cd to unzipped directory, typing smw + enter resulted in nothing.
    Alt+F2, pointed to unzipped folder & got an error "could not open location"
    cd into the folder containing the binary, then make it exectutable:

    $ chmod +x smw

    then to run it:

    $ ./smw

    Re: Super Mario War

    Sorry to bring this topic back, but the compiled link does not work and I'm a noob so I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. How do I install this game from the original binaries? When I untar the file, it makes 2 folders. One is called 'install' and one 'usr'. In the install folder, there is one file called 'slack-desc' which is basically a description of the game. I tried using chmod and stuff on this file and nothing happened. In the usr folder, there are all the files for the game. I chmod-ed the smw game file and ran it, but it says that the shared library is not available. Is this because I can't play Super Mario War on a 64-bit system? Anyways, can someone tell me step-by-step what to do to install the game or if the game will even work on my Ubuntu 7.10 64-bit?

    Re: Super Mario War

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install libsdl1.2-dev libsdl1.2debian
    Try doing that in terminal.

    I got the same error as you(./smw: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_image-1.2.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
    ), and this fixed it for me.

    I just checked it. It's one big mess, even the source codes is messy. The subversion are asking for your password (DON'T do it).

    Recommended not using it until it's solved.
    Head over and grab either SuperTux or Secret Maryo Chronicles.

    Crikey. Are you saying it's potentially unsafe to try to run this game?

    I downloaded it too, but I couldn't get it to work either so I just deleted it.

    No, I say it's fishy that the subversion is asking for my password.
    When I enter the subversion command, it ask for your password.
