Ubuntu Alt+Space is already in use

I just pulled down Launchy on my new Ubuntu machine, but when I start it, I get the following popup message: "The hotkey Alt+Space is already in use, please select another." The first thing I did was to go into my keyboard settings and disabled "Activate the window menu" and "Key to show the HUD". However, I still get that popup message after that. Nothing happens when I hit Alt+Space, and I can't find anything on my system that's mapped to it.

My Ubuntu version is 14.04 STS, and my Launchy version is 2.5.0. This has also been reported here and here, but those threads were closed without any resolution. Any ideas? I've grown very addicted to this tool, and would love to get past this problem so I can also use it on Ubuntu. Thanks!
