    MSI B75IA-E33 - 13.04 (x86) Unable to power off past shutdown.

    Hi,

    I have installed Ubuntu 13.04 x86 on MSI B75IA-E33 as HTPC running XBMC. Everything is fine, just that when the system is shutdown it won't power off. But if I can the power button hold down, then it will power off. I have tried with acpi=force and apm=on in the grub with no result. Any advise?

    Also, I am not sure if relevant, but this board is powered vi : M2-ATX-HV, 140w output, 6v to 32v wide input Intelligent Automotive DC-DC Car PC Power Supply

    Hi, welcome to the fora.

    13.04 is out of support meaning that bugs (like for example this one) will not be fixed. Your best first step is a fresh install of 13.10.
    Bringing old hardware back to life. About problems due to upgrading.

    Agreed, and I am going to upgrade, it's on the way at the moment, but if the problem persists, then the question still remains. In that scenario, what are the alternatives/options?
