Login to XBMC, then no more login at all

I had XBMC installed for quite some time.
A couple of days ago when I booted and logged into my Kubuntu account, I ended up in XBMC.
I repeated this several times, but I did not manage to get to my Desktop.

So I thought it would be a smart thing to uninstall xbmc in order to get my normal desktop back. But it got even worse.
Now, after I enter login data, I end up seeing nothing but the background of my login screen and my mouse cursor.

I can enter the virtual consoles, but the network is not working (is that normal?)

Any ideas? I want my desktop back...

I've been booting windows for the last couple of days, but this is not really a solution..
