The Tab key is your friend. I know you probably know that, but just throwing it out there anyway.

I have dow and doc aliased to cd /home/ann/Downloads/ and cd /home/ann/Documents/ respectively.

I always suspected that the keys on keyboard were moving around and changing location because my well trained-typing fingers (one on each hand) would never make a mistake. (If you believe that......).
